Had meniscus surgery a week ago, and am not taking any medications. The ice therapy is all I need for any pain
Let me start by saying that when the unit works it does a fantastic job of providing cold circulation along with compression. However at about 5 months of continual nightly use an issue arose regarding the power inlet on the head of the machine. I contacted Gregg and they exchanged the unit for a new one and explain they do not repair units they replace them. The new unit continued to work for about another 6 months and started the same issue. When plugged in the power is intermittent rendering the unit inoperable. Because it’s past 6 months I’m unable to warranty the unit, nor use it. I recommend a few things. One do your research on units if you plan to use it over a long duration of time (not just post surgery) two and this is after talking to a Gregg tech, donor plug and unplug the power cord on the head of the unit, instead unplug it at the wall as to help eliminate the wear on the poorly made/ designed connection port.
Five stars for the unit- + the amount of compression, for the (average size) shoulder harness. Disappointed with the time it took to arrive, and the fact that the instructions are very vague on how to attach the shoulder harness with one arm. It took me a couple emails and which they got back quickly… Plus the girl sent me a YouTube video on how to properly adjust the harness. The YouTube video was outdated but I still got it and I got the point. Definitely going to have to order ice packs. It goes through so much ice it’s ridiculous! But it was worth the price because I did not spend $4000! It is very quiet, and the unit itself is lightweight. But I suggest unless you have somebody to help you with your harness (if it is a shoulder in particular), you need to ask all the questions, or download the YouTube video to learn how to put it on. It is definitely not easy. Happy with the construction of the unit.
It is a good ice machine we chose to try this model because of the reviews that it was more comparable the game changer type machines. It is nicer than the cheaper versions but does not compare to the game changer type machines. Which I am fine with because of the price difference I did not expect it to be as nice as those. But overall this is nice machine and I was very pleased with the large knee pad attachment. Has worked well for relief after my daughters knee surgery.
Love the feeling that I get with his product. Always looking forward to my next ice bath.
